Manufactured from around 1902 until at least 1917, The Model 1898 Bayonet was the Imperial German response to the French 1886 lebel narrow bladed bayonet. This is an excellent German Seitengewehr M 1898 bayonet. It has a superb 20 1/2" polished pipeback blade with swell point tip. It has a full central fuller. The ricasso is stamped by the manufacturer 'CG Haene* Suhl'. It has undamaged grooved slab wood grips secured with two rivet screws. It has a swept cross guard. It is complete with it's steel scabbard. The scabbard retains about 85 % of the original black paint and it has a belt hook on the reverse. The price includes UK delivery. Sn 10178

Imperial German WW1 Mauser 98/05 'Butcher Bayonet' Double Marked By Hartkopf Manufacturer & Dietrich Retailer & Scabbard. ED 2309 - ED 2309
An original German WW1 Mauser 98/05 'Butcher Bayonet'. The bayonet has 9 groove wooden grips which are secured with two bolts. The hilt has a flash guard to prevent damage when firing. It has a push button spring release which operates as it should. The crossguard has no muzzle ring. The The single edged polished steel blade has a maker's stamp on the ricasso " Gebr, Hartkopf Solingen" and on the reverse a retailer's mark "O.Dietrich Altenburg" The blade measures 14 1/2" long, it gradually widens from being 1" wide at the ricasso to just over 1 1/4" wide at it's widest point. The back edge of the blade is stamped with a partially visible Imperial inspection mark. It's original black painted metal scabbard is excellent and undamaged. A Prussian Dreyse Socket bayonet with a unique locking spring designed by Johan Christian Wilken Kyhl (Danish). It was first introduced in 1794. The Kyhl spring catch was used on Danish bayonets from 1794-1860 and was also used by Norwegian and Prussian makers. The bayonet overall length is 508mm, blade length is 400mm and the muzzle ring is 25mm. The muzzle ring is stamped with faint partially unreadable marks (illustrated). The price includes UK delivery. A Prussian Dreyse Socket bayonet with a unique locking spring designed by Johan Christian Wilken Kyhl (Danish). It was first introduced in 1794. The Kyhl spring catch was used on Danish bayonets from 1794-1860 and was also used by Norwegian and Prussian makers. The bayonet overall length is 508mm, blade length is 400mm and the muzzle ring is 25mm. The blade is stamped with "103 1838-218 1832 250" and the muzzle ring is stamped with "1 K R B.3C170.". An original, 1937 pattern German Army Officers Dress Bayonet. It has a clean blade and the ricasso is stamped with the makers name A. Evertz, Solingen. The bayonet's black stippled scales are in similar superb condition. It has a swept crossguard & birds head pommel. The bayonet is contained in it's steel scabbard which has no denting and retains some of it's original black paint. The scabbard is mounted with an original brown leather frog with single belt loop. This is a rare, WW1 German Ersatz Bayonet Made Using A British 1853 Pattern Socket Bayonet Blade. The triangular blade is 16 1/2" long (21 3/4" overall). It's crossguard has a muzzle ring and the pommel slotted for bayonet bar & complete with sprung lug button which works correctly. The steel grips are riveted and are contoured for grip. An original Austrian socket bayonet for the 1854 Lorenz rifle 1854-1867. The bayonet is a cruciform socket bayonet (no. 17) which is distinquished by the helical locking slot as can be seen in one of the photographs. many of the bayonets were exported to the United States during the American Civil War. The blade measures 18" and the bayonet measures 22" overall. The socket measures 80mm and has an inside diameter of 22mm. The socket has a rotating locking ring which has a screw adjuster. The cruciform blade is in very good condition. On the ricasso there is a small manufacturers proof mark. On the elbow it is stamped with "26 490" and what looks to be "J5" The socket has helical slot. The bayonet has no scabbard. The price includes Uk delivery.

An Original 100% guaranteed German WW1 Demag Combination Trench Knife-Bayonet. The knife-bayonet is 270mm in length. The blade measures 152mm in length and 22mm at it's base. It has a symmetrical double edge that starts 15mm from the guard and which is preceded by a flat ricasso. The grip comprises of two stamped metal parts assembled by 4 rivets. The handle has the standard trefoil-shaped groove at the rear allows attachment to the Gewehr 1898 rifle. The guard has a circular aperature to allow the rifle rod to pass through. The grip is coated in a feldgrau lacquer. The spring catch stud operates smoothly. The scabbard is virtually the same as all 160mm fighting scabbards. It has a leather frog which is riveted to the scabbard. This is a very original, excellent condition complete example of the Demag knife-bayonet. This is a fine condition original 1916 dated Imperial German Pattern 1898/05 Butchers Bayonet and scabbard for the Gew. 98 Mauser Rifle. The ricasso is stamped ' Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Cie, Solingen'. The back of the blade is stamped ' W 16' (1916) with the Imperial Crown. The blade is clean & the grips are original and un-damaged. The steel scabbard is also original and in good order with just a couple of minor dents to be expected. The heavy duty leather frog is stamped with the maker's details A.P.H. A nice condition German Army Dress parade bayonet with scabbard & frog. It has an excellent pair of stag horn grips, Zinc alloy, birds beak pommel and upswept quillon on the crossguard. It has a single edged, 8" long, fullered blade with double edged dagger point. It has it's original leather washer at the hilt and crisp Eickhorn, Solingen manufacturer's name with Squirrel legend at the ricasso. It is complete with original metal scabbard which retains some original black paint and black leather frog with single belt loop and retaining strap with stud fastener.
