WW1 1918 Imperial German Mauser 98/05 'Butcher Bayonet' Double Marked By Hartkopf Manufacturer & Mundlos Retailer, Scabbard & Later Leather Frog. Sn 10401:10 - 10401:10
An excellent original German WW1 Mauser 98/05 'Butcher Bayonet'. The bayonet has 9 groove wooden grips which are secured with two screw bolts. It has a push button spring release which operates as it should. The crossguard has no muzzle ring. The clean single edged steel blade has a maker's stamp on the ricasso " Gebr, Hartkopf Solingen" and on the reverse a retailer's mark "H. Mundlos & Co Magdeburg". The blade measures 14 1/4" in length, it gradually widens from being 1" wide at the ricasso to just over 1 1/4" wide at it's widest point. The back edge of the blade is stamped with a 1918, '18' Imperial inspection mark. The pommel has an Imperial Inspection mark. It's original black painted metal scabbard is excellent and undamaged. The bayonet is complete with a well made later leather frog with all rivets and stitching intact. The rear of the frog is faintly impressed '1916' with unreadable letters. A WW1 Imperial German model 1898/05 butcher sawback bayonet with sawback officially removed, manufactured by Gottlieb Hammesfahr Solingen Foche complete with metal scabbard and leather frog. The bayonet has a single edged blade which widens towards the point. It's saw back blade has been officially removed. The ricasso is stamped by the manufacturer "Gottlieb Hammesfahr Solingen Foche". The spine of the blade is stamped with manufacturers stamps. The reverse of the ricasso is stamped with "Schubert Saltzer Maschinenfabrk Chemnitz". The blade measures 14 1/2" long and is clean. Manufactured from around 1902 until at least 1917, The Model 1898 Bayonet was the Imperial German response to the French 1886 lebel narrow bladed bayonet. This is an excellent German Seitengewehr M 1898 bayonet. It has a superb 20 1/2" polished pipeback blade with swell point tip. It has a full central fuller. The ricasso is stamped by the manufacturer 'CG Haene* Suhl'. It has undamaged grooved slab wood grips secured with two rivet screws. It has a swept cross guard. It is complete with it's steel scabbard. The scabbard retains about 85 % of the original black paint and it has a belt hook on the reverse. The price includes UK delivery. Sn 10178

The The single edged polished steel blade has a maker's stamp on the ricasso " Gebr, Hartkopf Solingen" and on the reverse a retailer's mark "O.Dietrich Altenburg" The blade measures 14 1/2" long, it gradually widens from being 1" wide at the ricasso to just over 1 1/4" wide at it's widest point. The back edge of the blade is stamped with a partially visible Imperial inspection mark. It's original black painted metal scabbard is excellent and undamaged. A Prussian Dreyse Socket bayonet with a unique locking spring designed by Johan Christian Wilken Kyhl (Danish). It was first introduced in 1794. The Kyhl spring catch was used on Danish bayonets from 1794-1860 and was also used by Norwegian and Prussian makers. An original, 1937 pattern German Army Officers Dress Bayonet. It has a clean blade and the ricasso is stamped with the makers name A. Evertz, Solingen. The bayonet's black stippled scales are in similar superb condition. It has a swept crossguard & birds head pommel. The bayonet is contained in it's steel scabbard which has no denting and retains some of it's original black paint. The scabbard is mounted with an original brown leather frog with single belt loop. This is a rare, WW1 German Ersatz Bayonet Made Using A British 1853 Pattern Socket Bayonet Blade. The triangular blade is 16 1/2" long (21 3/4" overall). It's crossguard has a muzzle ring and the pommel slotted for bayonet bar & complete with sprung lug button which works correctly. The steel grips are riveted and are contoured for grip.
