MATCHING REGIMENT MARKS, 1875 Dated Imperial Prussian M1871 Sword Bayonet for the Model 1871 Mauser Rifle By ‘PD Luneschloss Solingen’& Scabbard Regiment Marked ‘6.R.1.9’. Sn 13773 - 13773
An original Imperial Prussian M1871 bayonet for the 1871 Mauser Rifle and scabbard with matching Regiment marks (see pages 113 to 116 & item 245 of The Bayonet Book by John Watts and Peter White). The bayonet has brass grips, smooth on one side and grooved on the other. The hilt has a push button release which operates smoothly. The quillon is stamped with Regimental markings ‘6.R.19’. It is stamped at the ricasso with partially visible manufacturer detail ‘PD Luneschloss Solingen’. The back of the blade has the Prussian ‘Crown above W’ mark and ‘75’ date stamp (1875). The single edged blade measures 18.3". The blade has light staining consistent with age but no damage. The scabbard is leather and has a brass throat mount with frog pin and brass chape. WW2 Era Matching Numbers German M84/98 Mauser Bayonet , Scabbard & Frog. Bayo 281 - Bayo 281
This is a complete WW2 era bayonet with matching numbers (1288 g) on the bayonet and the scabbard. The blued steel blade retains 100% of the original finish and is stamped with "1288 g" on one side and "S/155K" on the other. The crossguard is stamped with the number "52". The pommel is stamped with 2 Waffenampt stamps. It has a clearing / cleaning hole and dark brown plastic grips secured with two screw bolts. The grips are in perfect condition. The scabbard is blued steel and the mouthpiece is stamped with the number "1288 g". The frog is the standard leather version. A very nice complete, matching numbers K98 set. Pre WW1 German M98 Eickhorn Dress Bayonet With Stag Horn Grips, Scabbard and Frog. Bayo 280 - Bayo 280
A very early M98 Dress bayonet with stag horn grips and a 7 3/4" long blade stamped with the early Eickhorn Trademark of two Squirrels sat back to back and "C.E." underneath. It has a black crossguard and pommel which has a working press stud release. The scabbard is black steel and is complete with a brown leather frog. German M1871 Regimently Stamped Bayonet By P.D. Lune Schloss, Solingen, Scabbard and Leather Frog. Bayo 279 - Bayo 279
A very nice M1871 bayonet for the Mauser rifle. It has brass grips and a steel recurving crossguard. The blade is fullered and is stamped with the makers name "P.D. Lune Schloss Solingen". The crossguard is stamped with 2 regimental stamps, "18.R.9.132" which has a line deleting it and "R.AT.2.78" which has no line through it. The face of the crossguard has a Crown over "W". The top of the blade has "W74" over a Crown over a letter. The scabbard is brass mounted brown leather and carries 2 regimental stamps to the top chape. One of these has been deleted but the other reads "L.RAT.2.100". The frog is a brown leather version with no markings. (See White & Watts No 245, Pages 113 & 116). The price includes UK delivery. German 1915 Dated S98/05 nas Bayonet By V.C. Schilling & Co. Suhl and Scabbard. Bayo 270 - Bayo 270
A very nice S98/05 German bayonet made in 1915 by V.C. Schilling & Co. Suhl. The bayonet has nine groove wood grips secured with two screw bolts. The steel pommel has a push release button which operates smoothly. The pommel is stamped with inspection marks, the grip has a steel flash guard fitted. The polished steel blade is stamped with "V.C. Schilling over Suhl and the back edge is stamped with a Crown over "W" and "15" denoting it was manufactured in 1915. The production of the S98/05 bayonet at Schilling& Co. reached its peak in 1915 after which most of its production switched to rifles. The scabbard is the early leather version which by mid 1915 had ceased and steel versions were then issued. Scarce German S98/05 uas Bayonet By Anker-Werke Bielefeld & Scabbard. Bayo 269 - Bayo 269
This is a scarce S98/05 bayonet by Anker-Werke Bielefeld. Anthony Carter in his 'German Bayonets' book states that the models 98/02 and 98/05 bayonets by this firm are scarce and are thought to have only been made in 1917. They only carry the 2 line trademark of Anker-Werke Bielefeld with no dates, cyphers or other firm markings. There is however a number "493" stamped on the crossguard. The bayonet is in an all steel scabbard. (See German Bayonets book by Carter Page 27-30 and Page 64-65. A scarce bayonet. The price includes UK delivery. Bayo 269

German M84/98 3rd Model Bayonet, Scabbard and Leather Frog. Sn 13535 - 13535
This is a nice 3rd pattern K98 bayonet with wooden grips. The blade retains most of its original finish but is un-marked. The crossguard carries the number "6906L" and the pommel has 2 Waffenampt stamps. The scabbard carries the number "6083" on one side and "W.K.C. 1940" on the other, plus a Waffenampt stamp on the tip. The frog is a captured Czech one similar to the one pictured in 'Bayonet Belt Frogs Part One' book by Anthony Carter on page 31, No. 325. A nice combination of an obviously wartime issue bayonet. This is a very nice matching numbers 3rd Pattern K98 bayonet. The blade which retains most of its original bluing is stamped at the ricasso with the makers name "Berg & Co". It is also stamped on the opposite side of the ricasso with "9402a" which is repeated on the scabbard. The year of manufacture is stamped on the top edge of the blade "39" which is 1939. The grips are dark brown Bakelite and the pommel carries two Waffenamt stamps. The leather frog is in very nice condition and is the mounted troops version with a hilt loop. MINT, German M98 Dress Bayonet By FW Holler Solingen & Scabbard. BAYO 235 - BAYO 235
This is a near mint, M98 dress bayonet and scabbard (see the book 'German Clamshells' page 15 by Gary L. Walker & R.J. Weinand). The dress sidearm for military and civilian uniformed formations was designated the M98 Dress Bayonet. This bayonet represented a stylised form of the S. 84/98 bayonet purchased by the individual for wear with the walkout dress uniform and was worn by the mainly non-commissioned officers and enlisted personnel. This early dress bayonet has a rifle mortise and push button release. It retains the red felt in the mortise slot. This example has a pristine 7 ¾” blade (12 ½” overall). It has the maker’s name and trademark roundel ‘FW Holler Solingen’ at the ricasso. The cross guard and pommel are nickel plated. The black plastic grips are chequered and secured with two rivets. It has its original black military issue scabbard with lozenge shaped frog stud. The finish of the scabbard has areas of service wear. The price includes UK delivery. BAYO 235
