RARE, 1920's Webley Mark 1, .177 Calibre Air Pistol. AI 593 - AI 593
This is a rare 1920's Webley Mark 1, .177 Calibre Air Pistol (See pages 16 to 20 of Bruce's book Webley Air Pistols). It has undamaged metal work and even patina throughout. It has it's original correct slim wood grips with inlaid Webley 'winged bullet' roundel in the left grip. The left side of the frame is stamped number '31169' and the cylinder 'Webley & Scott Ltd Birmingham & London' manufacturers detail together British and International 1925 Patents. The right side is stamped 'Webley Air Pistol Mark I' together with 'Made In England' and 1923/24 International patents'. The forward barrel block is stamped 'MK1 .177'. It has an adjustable rear sight & blade fore sight. The left side above the trigger has the correct safety catch feature. The pistol cocks and fires with a strong spring action. The Webley Premier MK II Air Pistol was produced between 1975 and 1977 (see page 143 of Bruce's book Webley Air Pistols). Pre 1958, Webley Mark 1, .22 Calibre Air Pistol. Sn 10042 - 10042
The Webley Mark 1 Air Pistol was produced between 1935 and 1964 with refinements being made to the model throughout the production period. This is a nice Webley Mark I Air Pistol. The pistol is stamped on the end of the cylinder with batch number "758". It has black plastic grips with Webley roundels. It has "Oil" with a curved arrow on the left side of the cylinder together with " The Webley Mark 1 Made in England". On the left side just below the fore sight it is stamped ".22 MK1". The cylinder is stamped on the right side "Webley & Scott Ltd Birmingham 4" (Birmingham 4 was the Webley Pre 1958 address). It is also stamped "Webley Patents". It retains it's original blue finish. (see pages 67-73 of Webley Air Pistols by Gordon Bruce). The pistol cocks and fires with a strong spring action. The price includes UK delivery. This is an excellent Boxed, Webley Premier 'E' Series .22 Calibre Air Pistol. It is undamaged with original finish and black plastic grips with embossed Webley logos. The left side of the cylinder has it's original manufacturer's sticker 'Webley & Scott Ltd, Premier, Made In England'. The front of the cylinder is stamped with batch number '849' and under the grip 'E' (Series) together with matching batch number and dated '7.74' (July 1974. It has a blade foresight & adjustable rear sight and it cocks and fires perfectly with a strong spring action. The pistol is contained in it's original cardboard box with Webley labelling & imagery. The Webley Premier 'E' series was introduced in 1972. The 'E' Series designation was stamped on the frame near to or under the left grip. Early examples had Brown Plastic Grips (see 119/120 of Webley Air Pistols By Bruce). This is an excellent example in .22 Calibre. It is undamaged and has the early brown plastic grips with embossed Webley logos. The left side of the cylinder is stamped 'The Webley Premier Made In England'. The frame near the left grip is stamped with the correct large E (Series designation). The front of the cylinder is stamped with number '615'. Post 1950's, West German Gerstenberger & Eberwein, EM-GE Model LP3a, .22 Calibre 'Break Action' Air Pistol & Cocking Aid. AI 588 - AI 588
This is an excellent, Em-Ge model LP3a, made in Germany by Gerstenberger & Eberwein. (The pre-WW2 name of this company was Moritz & Gerstenberger, the brand name "Em-Ge" is the German pronuciation of the old initials "M" and "G."). These pistols were made made from the mid 1950's until sometime into the late 1970's/ early 80's and had a reputation for excellent workmanship and finish. This example is excellent. It is break action with adjustable rear target sight & blade foresight. It retains it's original blue metal finish and has lovely brown plastic contoured target grips which are undamaged. The pistol measures 12 1/2" overall & has a 6" rifled barrel. The left side of the weapon is crisply marked by the manufacturer 'EM-GE Gerstenberger u Eberwein' together with 'Mod LP3a Made In Western Germany'. The left side of the barrel block is stamped 'Cal 5.5mm' (.22) the right side, serial number '50594'. The pistol cocks, loads and fires perfectly. It is complete with it's original plastic and brass ball cocking aid helpful because of the short barrel and exposed front sight. Price includes UK delivery.
