RARE, Early Production, 1936, B.S.A. Model No.4 'Club' .177 Calibre Underlever Air Rifle 'C' Prefix Serial Number. AI 643 - AI 643
This is an excellent B.S.A. Model No.4 Aka 'Club' .177 Calibre Underlever Air Rifle. These rifles were a follow on from the 'Club Special' model and are rare as only approx. 3,000 were made in their production run between 1936-1939 (see page 30 of Hiller's book The Collector's Guide To Air Rifles). It has all original wood and metal work with ribbed butt and concealed trap. It measures 43 ¾” overall with a 19 ¼” barrel. It has a blade foresight and adjustable rear sight. The neck of the wood stock has the correct chequered panels with raised 'BSA’ motif. The weapon has the early production 'C' prefix serial number 'C 351' which dates it to 1936. Boxed, Pre 1958, Webley Senior .177 Calibre Air Pistol With Brown Grips & Accessories. AI 640 - AI 640
This is a very good Webley Senior .177 Calibre Air pistol. It is undamaged with brown plastic grips. The left side of the cylinder is stamped 'The Webley Senior Made In England' together with 'oil' and arrow indicator pointing to the oil hole located on top of the cylinder highlighted in white. The right side is stamped 'Webley & Scott Ltd, Birmingham 4' and 'Webley Patents' (The pre 1958 Birmingham area code 4 was removed post 1958 after a factory relocation, see Page 85 of Webley Air Pistols by Bruce). The forward barrel block is stamped '.177' calibre & the front of the cylinder stamped with serial or batch number '923'. The rear of the cylinder is stamped ‘Do Not Remove’. It has a blade foresight & adjustable rear sight and it cocks and fires perfectly with a strong spring action. The pistol is contained in its original Webley cardboard box with Pre 1958 Birmingham 4 address Webley labelling & imagery. Original 'instructions for use' are adhered to the inside of the lid. The box contains its original illustrated components list, a pack of Diana 4x4 colour bull’s eye targets, a wire cleaning brush and an Eley Wasp pellet tin which contains a quantity of .177 calibre lead pellets. Boxed, Pre 1958, Webley Junior Series 2 .177 Calibre Air Pistol With Original Empty Webley Paper Pellet Packet. AI 639 - AI 639
This is an excellent boxed Webley Junior Series 2 .177 Calibre Air pistol (see pages 95 to 108 of Bruce’s book ‘Webley Air pistols’). It is undamaged with original finish and black plastic grips with embossed Webley logos. The left side of the cylinder is stamped 'The Webley Junior .177 Webley & Scott Ltd Birmingham 4 Made In England' (In 1958 Webley relocated their factory from Birmingham 4 to Birmingham 21 Postal area. Weapons produced after 1958 were marked either Birmingham or Birmingham 21). The front of the cylinder is stamped with serial / batch number '768'. It has a blade foresight & adjustable rear sight and it cocks and fires perfectly with a strong spring action. It is contained in its original Webley labelled cardboard box with vivid Webley pistol imagery, Junior model detail and Webley's Birmingham 4 address. Original Webley Junior Series 2 instructions are adhered to the inside of the lid of the box. The box also contains an original empty Webley paper pellet packet which is torn. 1962-1966 B.S.A Meteor MK II Near Mint, Boxed, .22 Calibre Break Action Air Rifle 'TA' Prefix Serial Number, Telescopic Sight & Accessories. Sn 13846 - 13846
Birmingham Small Arms introduced the Meteor Air rifle in both .177 & .22 calibre in 1959. MK 1 rifles were produced until 1962 when the MK II model was introduced. MK II production continued until 1968. The small frame rifle is 41 ½” overall with an 18" barrel. This is a near mint example of the MK II Meteor in .22 Calibre. It has a mint undamaged light coloured wood stock with grooved butt end. The metal work is undamaged and retains all of its original blueing. It has a block and blade fore sight. The top of the adjustable rear sight is stamped with the BSA piled arms logo and the top of the cylinder forward of its 2 raised scope mounts is crisply electroplated 'BSA Meteor' with stylised arrow logo. The rifle's serial number 'TA16313' is stamped on the underside of the barrel block. The 'TA' prefix serial number dates the rifle to between 1962 and 1966 (see page 39 of Collector's Guide to Air Rifles By Hiller). The top of the barrel is stamped ‘BSA Guns Ltd England’ together with ‘.22 Cal’ and BSA piled arms logo. The barrel's bore is clean with crisp rifling and it cocks and fires as it should with a strong spring action. The rifle comes with its original cardboard retail box which contains its original pressed cardboard inserts to protect the rifle & original accessories which accompanied the rifle when it was 1st bought. The exterior of the box has colourful BSA labelling and imagery. The edges of the box have become detached but still holds the rifle securely with the assistance of a string loop. The edges of the box could easily be rejoined. The box contains its original telescopic sight with plastic coated body and integral sight mounts & metal target holder which contains 3 original BSA competition bullseye targets which are clean and unused. This is a B.S.A Cadet .177 Calibre Air Rifle. It has a ‘B’ prefix serial number ‘B67754’ which dates it to between 1946-1949 (see Page 34 of Hiller’s Book 'The Collectors Guide to Air Rifles'). The woodwork is undamaged undamaged condition and the metal retains some of its original finish. It has a 15" clean rifled barrel and measures 37 ½” overall. RARE, MATCHING NUMBERS, C1920 German Oscar Will ‘Tell’ .177 Calibre Break Action Air Rifle. Sn 13756 - 13756
This is an excellent early original example of the Tell air rifle made C1920 by the German manufacturer Oscar Will (see pages 153,185 & 205 of Hiller’s book ‘The Collectors Guide To Air Rifles’) . It has its original wood stock with steel butt plate and its original blue finish has even patina. Its 17 ½” round barrel is stepped to octagonal near to the breech. It has an adjustable trigger and is fitted with blade fore sight and fixed ‘v’ notch plate rear sight. It measures 40” overall. The top of the barrel is marked with the ‘Tell’ signature. An excellent condition B.S.A, MK II Airsporter, .22 Calibre Air Rifle. It is serial number GD17164 which dates it to between 1959-1965 (see Page 49 of Hillers Book 'A Collectors Guide to Air Rifles'). The wood stock with ribbed butt and metal work are in excellent undamaged condition. The top of the air chamber is correctly marked with the ' B.S.A. Airsporter' gold coloured electroplated legend and is grooved for telescopic sight. It has a shrouded fore sight and flip up rear sight. The top of the barrel is crisply stamped with 'B.S.A. Guns Ltd, England, .22 Cal' and with the B.S.A 'stacked rifles' logo. It is under lever cocking. It has a clean bore with crisp rifling and the loading and firing action works perfectly.
